Juan Manuel Zárate Pretel, a doctoral student at UFRJ, has won the SBF Thesis Award for his work titled 'Stellar structure in f(R) and f(R,T) theories of modified gravity'. His research was supervised by Professor Ribamar Rondon de Rezende dos Reis from IF-UFRJ.This outstanding achievement puts Pretel's thesis in the running for the prestigious José Leite Lopes Award for Best Doctoral Thesis.
